  • My son was fortunate enough to benefit from an intensive 1:1 Latin GSCE revision session with Mr Gabb. The session was incredibly useful and served to order his thinking around how to deliver within the exam. We are both sure it contributed significantly to him achieving an A* this summer. (P, Tonbridge)
  • I would like to thank Sean for the excellent tutoring he gave my son which resulted in a good pass in the IGCSE… exam. He was reliable, inspiring and dare I say it very amusing. (W. Walmer)
  • Dear Sean, Got an A in Latin [A Level]. Now waiting on KCL. All efforts much appreciated. Drinks on me – coffee too! (P, Ashford)
  • Thankyou for everything you have done over the past few months. I very much appreciate the effort and bucket of patience it took to teach me Greek. Not only that, I am honoured to have been tutored by such a brilliant academic and successful author. You honour me, Sir. (J, Dover)
  • I’d like to take this opportunity to reiterate how impressed we have been with the tuition provided. Our son sat his Latin A2 exams this week with confidence and has thoroughly enjoyed his lessons with Sean. We couldn’t be happier and feel extremely lucky to have been introduced to such a marvellous teacher who has definitely inspired, expanded and encouraged our son’s interest in this subject. (A, Ramsgate) [The student got an A in the examination.]
  • Dear Sean, XXXX got a B in the [Latin] GCSE. We are very happy with this, and are sure that the result would have been even better if we had come to you before almost the last minute. We have passed your details again to XXXX School. (J. Canterbury)
  • I’d like to thank you for guiding me with some first steps to learn Greek and Latin. Thanks to your help, I’m more motivated to read Latin, and apply myself…. I even found myself able to, with knowledge of the Greek alphabet, read some Homer in the original. I don’t quite know what it means yet, but I’m glad to have made some progress haha. (A, United States)
  • Thank you very much…. The course has helped me to improve my confidence in Latin. I can now actually understand how to translate endings in Latin after 5 years. I was amazed by your knowledge and you managed to make me laugh several times. It made me realise that Latin can actually be interesting. I will carry on with the book and hope for the best! (K, Tonbridge)
  • I would just like to say thank you very much for helping my daughter with Latin by such a substantial extent – she has benefitted so much from all the materials you have sent. Moreover, I have dealt with so many private tutors for her but none have been like you – a top-class, sincere tutor who teaches from their heart. As a result of your tuition, she now knows exactly what she needs to do. She is very grateful indeed. Once again, I really do hope that you will have an available time in the near-future if she is to need some quick tuition before the exam. (T, London)
  • I just wanted to let you know that I received the grades for the dissertation. The dissertation got me a first: 74% for which I am very happy. My tutor said: “This is one of the most enjoyable dissertations I have ever read.  Technically it would be more accurate to describe this as a thesis rather than a dissertation based on empirical research. The eye is held by an engaging text from paragraph one to the conclusion. The whole thing sizzles with passion, curiosity and deep reflection.” (H, Bath)
  • Very sorry for the late response. I have completed my degree at the University of XXXX with a 2.1, and I am currently at the XXXX Law School in XXXX. Thank you very much for all the help, You have been a huge part of my success. (A, Canterbury)
  • Firstly I would like to say thank you for the help you gave me in achieving my grades and getting into XXXX. I am in my third week now and finding it enjoyable. Sociology is a bit more left wing than I imagined it to be. It seems every other lecture is about feminism. I am waiting to write my first essay for the subject as I am sure I will enjoy writing the other side of the argument. That said I am hoping to find a way to transfer to politics in my second semester….Hope to see you when you are next in London. (J, London)
  • My son got a B in History and an A in Latin. He is delighted with his grades. Our only regret is that you were unable to find time to help with his English, in which he got only a C. But he is now looking forward to going to XXXX. (E, Sandwich)
